About the Art
Q. Do you sell paintings or prints ?
A. We only sell 100% handmade oil paintings on canvas. These are meticulously created by our experienced artists who endeavor to match each stroke, texture and nuance in the same way the original paintings were made.
Q. How close to the original are OilPaintingRepro’s reproduction ?
A. No one can copy 100% accurately an original. Our aim is to produce paintings that are accurate to the degree that any difference between our reproduction and the original is visible only on very close inspection. We will reproduce a painting that captures the essence and majesty of the original that will bring beauty to any room that displays it.
Q. Will your artist sign the painting ?
A. Generally our artists will sign the painting with their own signature. However, if you prefer another form of signature whether from the original artist or perhaps even your own, you can request this at the time of ordering.
Q. Does OilPaintingRepro custom paint paintings not shown on this site ?
A. Yes ! If you desire a reproduction of a painting not shown here you can either send us a quality image by email as A.jpg file attachment or send it by post. If you do not have the image then simply send us the details such as original artist, title of painting and year completed. Let us know the size you require and we will endeavor to locate an image. Also have a look at our section on Portraits and Custom Orders.
Q. Can I also purchase original art from you ?
A. We will be adding more original art to our collection shortly and these will be updated progressively.
Q. How long does it take for me to receive my order ?
A. Generally between 3 to 6 weeks. Because painting with oil on canvas is a complicated and time consuming process we like to give our artists sufficient time to ensure the work is high quality. It is pointless to rush an artist when creating an art piece but we try to complete each work within 6 weeks or less. If your ordered painting is very large or complex then there is a chance it may take our artist longer. This will be advised to you at the time of ordering.
Q. Can I order a painting is different sizes to that shown ?
A. Yes. You can request paintings in any size you want. Most customers prefer to follow the painting's original aspect ratio, keeping the original relation between the painting's length and width. However if the size you require does not match the painting's original aspect ratio our artists will extend or reduce some of the painting's background to achieve the best possible result. We can also reproduce a certain detail of a larger original.
Q. I have a photo, can I send it to you to paint ?
A. Yes. Just send it by email to us and we will determine if the image is suitable for reproduction. Unfortunately not all photos will be of good enough quality to reproduce. We can make portraits of your family, your wedding day, your favourite pet, your house or even your car.
Q. Can you create a painting from using more than one photo ?
A. It is possible. But generally the photos should have been taken in similar lighting. That is, not one photo taken in strong sunlight and another taken at night with dim light.

A. Paintings are packed unframed using a hard plastic roll and shipped by only reputable carriers like DHL or FEDEX.

A. As with most purchases, paying any local customs or taxes is the customer's responsibility. However, it has been our experience that the majority of the paintings arrive untaxed.
